I make sculptural and functional pottery rooted in drawing and mark-making to explore the subconscious and human condition.  My work delves into acts of repetition, rule-making, and pushing the clay’s boundaries while allowing it to guide my process.  I blend thrown, slab, pinch, and coiled techniques to create a unique visual language, embracing mistakes and breakages, cutting up and mapping out new possibilities for the pieces.

I completed my degree in Textile Design at Chelsea College of Art in 2017 where I first had the opportunity to experiment with ceramics.  Driven to deepen my technical knowledge I started taking regular classes in 2022.  Ceramics has since become an important part of my life, working as a ceramic technician and tutor at Community Clay Studio, as well as creating from my studio in Manchester.

Clay as a material and practice enables our human need for slowness, sustainability and connectedness with the ground.  I believe it to be a catalyst for healing, creating space for discussion while challenging the status quo of the modern world.
